Wrought iron slave collar – two-piece with tooled decoration. This wrought iron collar is one example of a variety of implements used to punish slaves and control their mobility in order to prevent escape.
5 1/2 inches in diameter with brown oxidized patina, made for padlock closure.
This collar was found near Harpers Ferry, WV. A rare piece of history that would compliment any collection of Black Americana.
